Today started with a side trip to some national park units before returning to Route 66 to visit the Petrified Forest National Park, a dino drive thru, and ending back in Winslow at the La Posada Hotel.
Today was an early start around 5am MST/6am MDT to drive the two hours to be at Canyon de Chelly National Monument shortly after they opened at 8am MDT.

Before returning to I-40/Route 66, we also visited the Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site.

Back on Route 66, we visited Petrified Forest National Park, which is the only National Park with a portion of Route 66 inside its boundaries.
Next we visited the Meteor City Dino Drive-Thru.
We ended our day back in Winslow staying at the La Posada Hotel.
