Our Koffee Trail: Koffee Geeks

Date of Visit: September 27, 2025

Location: Koffee Geeks, Circleville, OH

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

Last night Dad searched along our route to plan this morning's Our Koffee Trail stop. Koffee Geeks stood out to him because as he said, "They spell koffee the same."

They had a good variety of specialties along with a seasonal menu. I got a Maple Cinnamon Latte from their seasonal menu. Dad got a cup of their campfire roast coffee. He also got a bag of their Harvest Blend for home.

Simonton Lake Drive-In

Date of Visit: September 26, 2025

Last night on our way up to the cottage our usual Elkhart exit was closed and we ended up taking the other Elkhart exit. As we drove through Elkhart, we noticed some things we hadn't before. When I noticed Simonton Lake Drive-In and its Root Beer sign, I was tempted to stop, but we were already cutting it close to make the last barge.

Today we aimed to get through the cottage closing checklist to get off the island when the barge started running at noon. Since we started by turning the water off around 11am and did not think about making lunch before we cleaned all the dishes and started the process, we were really ready for lunch when we finally headed off the island closer to 2pm. Thus, we decided to not take our usual route back (exit only temporarily closed at night) and head back the way we had come last night and get lunch in Elkhart.

Dad almost pulled into a tavern looking place he saw, but we settled on the drive-in we saw the night before because we figured we could at least get fries and shakes.

Instead we discovered more appealing options on the menu and ended up with fish burgers, pickle chips, and fried mushrooms.

We also both enjoyed their homemade root beer (should have got a half-gallon or gallon to take home).

Mini Golf Adventures: Snake River Golf

Date of Visit: September 12, 2025

Location: Snake River Golf, Myrtle Beach, SC

For the over five years we've lived in Myrtle Beach, we've driven past Snake River Golf many times and I thought it looked like an interesting mini golf course. However, it had already been closed down and was very rundown looking. A few weeks ago, we were driving by and I was surprised to notice it looked cleaned up with fresh looking greens. With summer ending and some cooler, less humid weather, I choose it as our next mini golf adventure.

Overall we enjoyed playing a round at Snake River Golf. The courses were nice with the greens still seeming very new (I think, it reopened back in May). There were still some feeling of it being rundown including a deck area that was falling in with falls in several parts that really should have been blocked/roped off for safety. The themeing was also mostly pretty plain, but there were some snakes and caves. Definitely, cannot beat the price, though, as $8 per person for all day play is among the cheapest (if not cheapest) in the area.

Mini Golf Adventures: Mulligan's Lagoon - Ace's Airway

Date of Visit: August 3, 2025

Location: Mulligan's Lagoon, Surfside Beach, SC

Course: Ace's Airways

We paid the discounted price to play both courses the same day at Mulligan's Lagoon. After finishing the Big Kahuna course, we headed back to the golf ball machine to use our credits to play the Ace's Airway course. The Ace's Airway course did not have as many fun holes as Big Kahuna, but there was a good cave hole and it has a good view of the plane on the walkway between Holes 11 and 12.
