Our Koffee Trail: CTX Coffee

We started our day on Route 66 in with breakfast at a diner in Tulsa, but we waited until Sapulpa to get coffee at CTX Coffee, which is located in the downtown shopping area that historic Route 66 goes through in Sapulpa.

I got a Harvest Moon Latte (honey, orange, rosemary). I was glad to be able to get decaf after the last two days our coffeeshop picks did not offer decaf.

Dad got their Uganda Medium Roast drip coffee.

Our Route 66 Daily Journal: September 27, 2026

Today was spent just in Tulsa visiting three museums and some other Route 66 things.

We started our day with coffee at Doubleshot Coffee Co.

While driving to our first museum, we founds a Route 66 themed penguin that, of course, we had to go around the block and come back to stop at for photos.

Our first museum of the day was the Greenwood Rising Black Wall Street History Center.

Next we visited the Bob Dylan Center.

We then went next door to the Woody Guthrie Center.

Our next stop was at the Gathering Place, which is a park area in Tulsa that currently has a Route 66 exhibit and some Route 66 themed art on display.

Next we parked at the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza, so that we could walk across the river under the bridge and visit the Route 66 Neon Sign Park.

Back in the car, we drove across the Southwest Bridge westbound and then turned around to do the Musical Road that plays "This Land is Your Land" in one of the eastbound lanes.

We then turned around again to go to the Crystal City Shopping Center, which is the west gateway to Route 66 in Tulsa and has The Tulsa Tablets of Time giving some of the history of Tulsa.

Our last stop of the day was at Tulsa's Will Rogers Highway Marker.

Today we backtracked on Route 66 do see a few more things in Catoosa, OK, and then spent the rest of the day in Tulsa.

We got our morning coffee at Lucidity Coffee.

Next we explored Rogers Point Park, where some parts of one of the Twin Bridge that used to carry Route 66 over Bird Creek are preserved.

We then visited the Blue Whale of Catoosa.

As we drove Route 66 through Catoosa on our way to Tulsa, we found the Catoosa Route 66 Community Unifier Monument.

Our first stop in Tulsa was at the Tulsa Fire Station 66 to get their stamp in the Oklahoma Route 66 passport.

Next we made an unplanned photo stop at an old Sinclair station.

We then made a quick stop at Circle Cinema. We visited this last year and just wanted to get the stamp in this year's passport.

For lunch, we at Akira Sushi & Ramen inside the Mother Road Market.

After lunch, we made a quick stop at The Church Studio for the stamp. As it was kind of chaotic with an event going on, we decided to not pay the $15 per person to do the tour.

Next we visited the The Outsiders House Museum.

As we had a lot of time left before our evening plans, we decided to go to the Meadow Gold District and find all the giants in the Land of Giants today instead of tomorrow when we would have had more limited time to do it.

In the evening, we saw Disney Pixar's Cars at the Tee Pee Drive In in Sapulpa, OK.

Our Koffee Trail: Lucidity Coffee

Location: Lucidity Coffee, Catoosa, OK

This morning we got coffee at Lucidity Coffee in Catoosa, OK, which is an interesting drive thru coffeeshop.

I enjoyed their Pumpkin Spice Latte, although they do not offer decaf as I prefer. Dad had a flat.white.

Our Route 66 Daily Journal: September 25, 2026

Today was mostly spent going to museums in Claremore. We made a few other stops as we headed to Tulsa.

We got coffee at French Quarter Coffee Company.

As we still had time before the museums opened, we drove around Claremore taking some photos of the Will Rogers markers and statues in the median of 66. We also checked out the Route 66 Legacy Gardens, which has statues of a few famous people from the area.

The first museum we visited today was the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. We spent about two hours here and could have spent longer if we had watched more of the videos you can select to play in the theatre.

Next we visited the J. M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum, which has the world's largest private arms collection, but it also has other collections including steins, saddles, sculptures, and more local history than the Claremore Museum of History we visited later.

Our visit to the Claremore Museum of History was quick as it is rather small, but also because it was awkward as no staff greeted us and they were hosting a homecoming high school reunion event that included refreshment tables set up and was not clear if we were allowed to be there or not.

Before we left Claremore, we got another coffee each at French Quarter Coffee Company because I wanted to try the Royal Chickory Latte.

As we headed towards Tulsa, we made a quick stop at The Nut House.

Since it was only around 3pm, as we drove through Catoosa, we decided to visit the D.W. Correl Musuem today instead of tomorrow. They have an impressive rock collection including Oklahoma rose rocks.

Our last stop of the day was at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, so I could get a pin for my collection.

Ranger Dan: 105.2 Pullman National Historical Park

Date of Visit: September 11, 2026

As we have visited Pullman National Historical Park previously, this was mostly just a quick stop to get the America 250 stamp. We also visited the Pullman Coffee Club, which is in the building that used to be the Pullman Club and was not open on our last visit. I also did a sketch while we ate our picnic lunch.

Our Route 66 Daily Journal: September 24, 2026

Today we did Route 66 from Vinita to Claremore, OK.

We started our day with coffee from Eastside Coffee.

Since we already did the Cherokee Nation Anne Mitchell Welcome Center yesterday, we had extra time this morning and decided to go back to the Buffalo Ranch. Coming at it from the south, we easily spotted where the buffalo are kept.

Next we visited the Vinita Welcome Center, where they have a Route 66 Monument.

We then learned about some of the local history of Vinita at the Eastern Trails Museum.

For lunch, we ate at the Hi-Way Cafe.

As we continued on Route 66, we stopped to take photos of the 1926 Pryor Creek Bridge in Chelsea.

Next we checked out the Chelsea Pedestrian Underpass and its mural art.

As we headed to our next stop, we decided to take a little detour and see the Site of Oklahoma’s First Oil Well.

Our next stop was at Ed Galloway’s Totem Pole Park.

Next we stopped to take photos of the Foyil Filling Station.

Nearby we also checked out the 1928 Route 66 Footrace Historical Marker.

We were ahead of schedule when we got to Claremore and were going to go to one of the museums we had planned for tomorrow, but after taking pictures of the Centennial Monument and Will Rogers Highway Marker, we realized we had a nail in a tire and instead went to a tire place to take care of that before it caused a delay.
