Our Koffee Trail: Be Known Coffee & Roaster

Date of Visit: March 14, 2026

Location: Be Known Coffee & Roaster, Little River, SC

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

This weekend we did our coffee outing on Saturday instead of our usual Sunday so we could try out Be Known Coffee in Little River. We really enjoyed the coffee here as well as the conversation with another customer as we sat and chatted while drinking our first drinks (Mom wanted another to go, so we all got another to go).

As Dad's usual is a Flat White, his first drink was the Spiced Orange Flat White, which he really liked. To go he got their dark roast Kenya drip coffee. My first drink was the seasonal Lemon Drop Latte, which was an unique and delicious latte. I also enjoyed the Chocolate Orange Ball Latte I got. Mom got a Snickerdoodle Latte for both her drinks.

Our Koffee Trail: Beach Hippie Coffee

Date of Visit: March 10, 2026

Location: Beach Hippie Coffee, Myrtle Beach, SC

Rating: 👍 (Like)

Mik needed nourishment after his fasting blood draw and Beach Hippie Coffee was on our list of local coffee shops we visited at Coastal Coffee Fest. No seasonal specials because their regular special lattes list is extensive. They also make their own bagels and cinnamon rolls.

Mik had the Supreme Bourbon Maple Iced Latte and Bakin Me Crazy Asiago Bagel Sandwich.

Dad had an Everything Bagel with Almond Butter and a cup of their Salty Butcher dark roast coffee. Mik says we need to go back with me so he can try other lattes on the menu.

Mom had a Mocha Latte.

I found the Blueberry Bliss Latte different and delicious. Nora also enjoyed their White Hot Chocolate.

After visiting Greenbelt Park as we headed up to Fort McHenry, we found Proteus Brews to get some coffee (and hot chocolate for Nora).

I enjoyed the Vanilla Cinnamon Latte. Mom, I think, had a mocha (she ordered while the rest of us were trying to decide).

Dad had a pour over coffee of the Coast Rica Gesha.

Our Koffee Trail: Benjamin's Bakery & Cafe

Date of Visit: February 15, 2026

Location: Benjamin's Bakery & Cafe, Surfside Beach, SC

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

After Dad got back from church, he picked Mik and I up to get coffee. We decided to go to Benjamin's Bakery & Cafe as it was the next on our list that of places we want to go that was open on Sunday.

They had a variety of syrup flavors and several different flavor combination recommendations on the menu by the register, which I wish I had noticed before ordering, but I did still like trying their house special latte, the Carmella, which I think was vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut. Mik a Cake Batter Mocha (cake batter was on of their featured flavors of the week), which he liked other than it was very hot so he waited until we were almost home to drink it. Dad had a dark roast coffee. We got a Carmella Latte to take home to Mom.

As he was hungry, Mik got the Ricky Bobby bagel sandwich, which has sirloin, egg, and cheese. He enjoyed it, although it was kind of messy.

I did not plan to get anything because I already had breakfast, but I forgot about their paczki, which I used to get regularly at their farmer's market booth. With Paczki Day coming up, we also preordered some to pick up on Tuesday.

Our Koffee Trail: Coastal Coffee Fest 2026

Date of Visit: February 14, 2026

Location: Coastal Coffee Fest, Myrtle Beach, SC

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

Dad and I went to the Coastal Coffee Fest this morning. It was fun to learn about some of the coffee roasters in the area and try their coffee. I only tasted a few as most did not have decaf, but Dad had at least the hot coffee at each booth and the cold brew at a few as both of us are not much into cold brew.

At the end, you voted with tickets for the best booth, best hot, and best cold. Dad and I individually voted, but ended up picking the same places. We choose Benjamin's Bakery as the best booth. Our favorite hot coffee was from Be Known Coffee. It was an unique blend of Kenyan and Brazilian beans. Our favorite cold brew was from Liberty Brew, although we only tried one other.

Benjamin's Bakery was my favorite booth because they had a decaf to try. Also, their decaf is different from others I have had because they use a sugarcane decaf process. It has been on our list to visit Benjamin's and now that I know about their decaf, definitely plan to go there sometime soon.

The final booth was Knowledge Perk Coffee outside. Here you could order from their menu and I got a decaf Tiramisu Latte.

Our Koffee Trail: Grand Strand Coffee - Winter Seasonals

Date of Visit: January 12, 2026

Location: Grand Strand Coffee (13th Ave location), Myrtle Beach, SC

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

This morning Dad didn't make coffee because we went to Starbucks for Pistachio Lattes. Later in the morning he asked if I wanted him to make coffee so I could have a second cup and I told him, "No, because we were about to go do errands." After our first stop, he asked if I wanted to get coffee and was going to go to Grand Strand Coffee in Market Common, but I told him we should finally go to the other location on Business 17 because that was actually on the way to the library and we have never been to that location.

We both got drinks from the Winter seasonal menu. Dad got the Chocolate Covered Cherry and I got the Gingerbread Latte (best version I've had of this as you can really taste the gingerbread spices).

Our Koffee Trail: Clockwise Coffee at Carolina Cider Company

Date: January 3, 2026

Location: Clockwise Coffee, Yemassee, SC

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

We discovered Carolina Cider Company when we went down to Hilton Head in 2021. Since then we've stopped a couple other times on our way to Florida, but we don't remember ever getting coffee here. The last few times we knew they had a coffeeshop, but we passed by when it was closed.

This trip we didn't plan on doing an Our Koffee Trail stop because for time sake we started with Starbucks when we left Myrtle Beach. However, we ended up at the Carolina Cider Company as a bathroom stop and Mik wanted a jug of Peach Cider, so with Dad ordering while I was getting the cider, the stop only a few minutes longer to also end up with coffee.

Mom had a White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha and I had a Brown Butter Rosemary Latte. I told Dad he should start using rosemary from our garden in the coffee at home.

Our Koffee Trail: Joffrey’s Holiday Coffee Challenge for WDW Annual Passholders

Date: December 9-12, 2025

Location: Joffrey's Holiday Coffee Challenge, Walt Disney World, Lake Buena Vista, FL

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

For the 2025 Holiday season at Walt Disney World, Joffrey's has a Holiday Coffee Challenge for Annual Passholders. Mom, Mik, and I decided to try them all.

Disney's Animal Kingdom - Cocoa & Spice

We started with the Cocoa & Spice at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This one isn't actually a coffee, but rather hot cocoa with pumpkin pie syrup. This ended up being Mik's favorite.

EPCOT - Yuletide Log Mocha

On our second park day, we started at EPCOT and got Yuletide Log Mochas (latte with dark chocolate sauce and marshmallow syrup) while we were eating our way through EPCOT and doing the Holiday Cookie Stroll.

Hollywood Studios - Cookie Butter Gingerbread Latte

Also on our second park day, we park hopped over to Hollywood Studios to ride Toy Story Mania and try the Cookie Butter Gingerbread Latte (latte with cookie butter syrup, cinnamon syrup, and spiced brown sugar syrup).

Magic Kingdom - Cheerful Elf Latte

We started our third park day at Magic Kingdom. While waiting for our Jingle Cruise return time, we got Cheerful Elf Lattes (latte with peppermint and vanilla syrup).

Disney's Springs - Santa's Thumbprint Cookie Latte

After Magic Kingdom, we headed over to Disney Springs to do the Christmas Tree Stroll and finish Joffrey's Holiday Coffee Challenge with Santa Thumbprint Cookie Lattes, which was my favorite. For completing the challenge, we got luggage tags.

Our Koffee Trail: Streetcar Espresso

Date: December 8, 2025

Location: Streetcar Espresso, Ashburn, GA

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

Yesterday, I had planned a coffeeshop stop in Chattanooga, but Dad wasted our coffee stop time on getting a car wash. This morning we had plenty of time to waste on our way down to Florida, so even though we purposely got a slow start we still were able to do a coffee stop. I found Streetcar Espresso as a drive thru near I-75.

Right away we enjoyed Streetcar Espresso just for its Christmas decor.

We also liked their festive sleeves. Mom got a Peppermint Mocha. I got a Caramel Brûlée Latte. Dad got a Latte. Mik got Apple Cider.

Our Koffee Trail: Dollop Coffee Co.

Date: December 3, 2025

Location: Dollop Coffee Co. (Streeterville), Chicago, IL

Rating: 👍 (Like)

Dad and I noticed Dollop Coffee when we went grocery shopping yesterday and decided to try it this morning.

I got their Streeterville location exclusive seasonal Cinnamon Bun Mocha. We got Mik the same as a hot chocolate. For Mom, we got the Candy Cane Lane Mocha. Dad ordered a Honey Cinnamon Latte, but it did not end up getting added to the order and by the time we had the other drinks and realized there was too much of a line with only one barista to be worth ordering as the other drinks would have been cold by the time we got his.
