Route 66: Meadow Gold District

Date of Visit: June 21, 2025

Driving Route 66 through Tulsa, we stopped to take photos of the Meadow Gold sign and ended up spending over an hour exploring the Meadow Gold District.

Near the Meadow Gold sign is Meadow Gold Mack. There is a gift shop nearby that we went in to get a sticker and found there is an Oklahoma Route 66 Passport to get stamped at various Route 66 places in Oklahoma. While there is only one page for the Meadow Gold District, different shops have different stamps, so we decided to visit some of the other shops nearby to get more stamps.

Next we stopped at Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios on Route 66, which has some giant statues including Buck Atom and Stella Atom. Dad says we'll have to visit again next year because they are getting some more giant statues.

We then stopped at Decopolis Discovitorium, which is a magic/sci-fi gift shop as well as art deco musuem.

Before returning to the car we walked a few more blocks to check out some of the various murals.

Route 66 Road Fest 2025: Preparing to Travel Route 66 for its 100th Anniversary in 2026

Date of Visit: June 21, 2025

To get ready for traveling Route 66 for its 100th anniversary next year in 2026, we went to the Route 66 Road Fest.

The first thing we did at the Route 66 Road Fest was play the Route 66 themed mini golf course. We enjoyed it, especially with it just being $2 per person to play.

We then spent several hours going through "The Journey: Route 66 Through the Decades" exhibit. It was interesting to see the history of Route 66 with the various decade themed exhibits, which often included period cars and period actors. Also, got many ideas of places that still exist on Route 66 to check out.

The Vintage Trailer Resort area was also interesting. Of course, it was Mom's favorite area.

There was also a large car show with a wide variety of cars that we wandered through.

Before leaving, we went through the are with booths from most of the states on Route 66 and gathered some information for planning next year's trip. We also had to get our photo with the Golden Driller.

Mini Golf Adventures: Route 66 Road Fest Mini Golf

Date of Visit: June 21, 2025

Location: Route 66 Road Fest Mini Golf, Tulsa, OK

We partly visited the Route 66 Road Fest to help get ready for planning to do Route 66 next year, but biggest reason I wanted to go to the Route 66 Road Fest was that I noticed it had mini golf. It was very much worth it even just for the mini golf as even though it is short holes, it has a good variety of obstacles and fun Route 66 themes. It is also the cheapest paid mini golf we've ever played at $2 a person (even if you include the $7 military price of our admission to the Route 66 Road Fest, $9 is among the cheapest cost for a round of mini golf).

Our Koffee Trail: She Brews Coffee

Date: June 21, 2025

Location: She Brews Coffee (Tulsa, OK)

Rating: ❤️ (Love)

As we are in Tulsa for the Route 66 Road Fest, it seemed appropriate to go to a coffee shop on Route 66 in Tulsa. We also ended up happening upon the farmer's market that blocks off the street by She Brews on Saturday.

Dad got the Dirty Elf Latte (chai) and I got the Love in a Cup Latte (white chocolate raspberry). We also got a bag of decaf coffee beans for home.
